The Adequacy Assessment project was commissioned by the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water, and Energy (MEWA) to evaluate the performance of 94 Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) ranging in capacity between 50 m3/day to 400,000 m3/day. The evaluation of the STPs aims at determining the reasons behind the underperformance of the STPs, and the development of an implementation plan to improve performance and to achieve optimal operation conditions, and compliance with prevailing KSA environmental and reuse Standards.

The scope of work conducted by the Consultant focused on the Assessment of O&M management practices in terms of:
