Project

Located at the coast of Ajman Emirate, Al Zorah is an upmarket mixed use development. The total land area is 12 million m², and the total built up area is 22 million m². At full development, it is anticipated that the project will have some 200,000 residents and 85,000 visitors and workers.

Solidere International commissioned Kassia to conduct an in depth feasibility study that reconsiders the two management options of onsite treatment of wastewater and off site treatment at the centralized sewage treatment plant in Ajman. The study is to use a methodical approach that includes both quantitative and qualitative comparisons, which elaborate the implications of each option under consideration by examining all factors related to wastewater management.

Assignment

The scope of work conducted by the Consultant included:

• Establishment of treatment requirements by: determining wastewater flows and their progression, wastewater quality to be adopted, and treated effluent requirements for both quality and quantity
• Development of options by determining the sizing and costing of sewage conveyance, treatment, and TSE conveyance to point of application for each system
• Conducting Comparative Analysis using the multi criteria: Technical Merits, Whole Life Costs, Environmental Implications, and Development timeframe
