UCAR Emulsion System FZE (UCAR) operates a Latex plant in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, including bulk storage of raw materials.

UCAR proposed to expand the plant capacity from 45,000 tons per annum to 60,000 tons per annum by process optimization.

Assignment

The scope of work of the EIA study included:

• Preparation of a detailed project description.
• Identification of potential environmental impacts of the project for construction and operations phases.
• Evaluation of significant environmental impacts operation phase by matrix method.
• Preparation of detailed mitigation measures and development of environmental management plans for construction and operation phases of the project.
• Submission of the EIA study report to regulatory authority to obtain environmental clearance of the project.
