Preparation of a feasibility study and an environmental impact assessment study for the development of a wastewater management system for El Khiam area in south Lebanon. The feasibility study includes the preparation of alternative wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal schemes. Also, the selection of preferred alternative, based on cost-benefit analysis and environmental impact assessment. The study also includes the preparation of the outline design and tender documents for the 6,000 m3/day wastewater treatment plant. The EIA study is prepared according to World Bank guidelines and considers, in addition to the potential identified environmental impacts, alternatives collection and treatment schemes, alternative disposal schemes including reuse of effluent and treated sludge in agriculture, mitigation measures, and environmental management plan.
