Project

Mizin proposes to construct three Mixed Use Urban Developments, Arjan, Liwan and Majan. The three projects are interlinked by a themed development related to cities associated with high rise development, cities of the world, and cities through history. The projects will have a mixed land use with hotels, commercial areas, residential areas, community facilities, and open green spaces. The total site area for the projects range between 130 hectares to 190 hectares, and the resident population for the developments range between 26,000 to 60,000.

The necessary infrastructure for the above land use include roads, water & electricity supply, storm water drains, sewerage system, fire fighting network, street lighting and landscaping.

As per the prevailing regulations, it is necessary to undertake Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Study before starting of work of such a developmental project.

Assignment

The EIA tasks were completed in two phases:

  1. Phase 1 – “Environmental Scoping” was undertaken on a high level basis simultaneously with the concept design stage of the project.
  2. Phase 2 – “Final Environmental Impact Statement” was commenced after approval of the Scoping report.
