Project

As part of its efforts to improve the sanitary system in the Bekaa area, The Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR), Lebanon, floated a tender to construct two wastewater treatment plants at the towns of Joubb Jannine and Saghbine.

The project aims at protecting the surface waters of the Litani and Qaraaoun lake from the pollution caused by the flow of untreated sewage, thus preserving the valuable water resources, and protecting public health.

The two plants will treat the flows of an estimated future population of 98,000  for the year 2020 utilizing the activated sludge process. The Joubb Jannine WWTP has a capacity of 10,000 m3/day whereas the Saghbine WWTP has a capacity of 600 m3/day.
